Professional Experience: • Extensive trial and appellate experience in commercial economic loss, consumer and products liability litigation. • Mr. Bird is the Founder and President of Bird, Jacobsen and Stevens P.C. since 1987. Prior to that, he was affiliated with several small firms in southern Minnesota. His first legal experience was to serve Judges Warren Plunkett and Dan Foley as a law clerk in the 3rd Judicial District. • Litigated more than 50 jury cases (many greater than a week in length) to verdict before courts in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. • Many favorable jury verdicts. • Extensive experience in Appellate Courts, including published decisions from the United States Supreme Court, Minnesota Supreme Court, Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, Wisconsin Supreme Court, Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. Some of the more notable appellate cases in which Mr. Bird wrote the briefs and argued orally are: Siewert v. Northern States Power Company, ___ N.W.2d ___, 2011 WL 222238 (Minn. Jan. 26, 2011) Martin v. City of Rochester, 642 N.W.2d 1 (Minn. 2002), cert. den., 539 U.S. 957(2003) Klehr v. A. O. Smith Corp., 521 U.S. 179, 117 S.Ct. 1984, 138 L.Ed. 373 (1997) Schmidt v. Northern States Power Co., 305 Wis.2d 538, 742 N.W.2d 294 (2007) • As a member of the Amicus Curiae Committee of the Minnesota Association for Justice, Mr. Bird has written 12 briefs in the Minnesota Appellate Courts. Some of the notable cases where he has acted in an amicus capacity are: Dykes v. Soukup Mfg., 781 N.W.2d 578, (Minn. 2010) Travelers Indem. Co. v. Bloomington Steel & Supply Co., 718 N.W.2d 888 (Minn. 2006) Curtis v. Altria Group, Inc., __ N.W.2d __, 2010 WL 5292065 (Minn. Ct.
