Charles A. Bird’s primary practice is complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis in commercial fraud and products liability cases involving economic loss. As part of his commercial litigation practice, Mr. Bird has extensive expertise and experience in agricultural related litigation, including adulterated feed, stray voltage, defective milking equipment and silos, veterinary malpractice, nutritional malpractice and herbicide/pesticide claims. His practice also includes cases related to medical and professional malpractice, personal injury, workers’ compensation as well as acting as an arbitrator or mediator of civil cases. He is qualified by the Minnesota Supreme Court and the American Arbitration Association as an arbitrator/mediator. He has successfully tried many cases in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School and is admitted to practice in the Minnesota and Wisconsin state and federal courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the United States Court of Claims, the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He is certified as a civil trial specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is a member of the Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association and serves on their Board of Governors. He is also a member of the Academy of Certified Trial Lawyers of Minnesota. He has been named a Leading Minnesota Attorney by the American Research Corporation and has been named a Super Lawyer by Law & Politics magazine every year from 2003-2008. He has been further recognized by Law & Politics magazine as one of the top 40 litigation attorneys in Minnesota in 2008, and in 2009 as one of the top 40 personal injury attorneys in Minnesota. |
