On Friday, July 20, 2018, a Fillmore County jury found Bradley Swanson not guilty of four drug charges. During the trial, the Fillmore County Attorney argued that Bradley Swanson conspired with his ex-girlfriend and a minor to grow marijuana in Chatfield, MN. The marijuana grow operation was discovered during a drug raid in May 2017.
The physical evidence, however, did not support Swanson’s involvement, and the credibility of the County Attorney’s witnesses who claimed Swanson was involved in the grow operation came under fire as the trial progressed. The jury deliberated for just 2 hours before returning not-guilty verdicts on all counts.
Mr. Swanson was charged with Third Degree Controlled Substance Sale – Conspiracy to Sell a Controlled Substance with a Minor, Fifth Degree Controlled Substance Sale, Fifth Degree Controlled Substance Possession, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The County Attorney dismissed an additional charge of Sale of a Small Amount of Marijuana prior to closing arguments.
